Belt fastenings.-Detachable fasteners for driving-belts of motor-cycles, cycle-cars, &c. embody means for protecting the belt ends and for preventing locking of same when passing over a pulley. A bridge-piece b is secured to two sidemembers a by shoulders, and pieces l of leather, fibre, soft metal, &c., are secured outside the plates a by arms projecting from the member b riveted over washers c in cavities d in the pieces e. A rear plate member f has sides engaging in recesses in the adjacent ends of the plates a, and projections h, i engaging slots in a fastener l of common type secured to an end of a belt m by screw n. A pin o is secured in the member a to receive a hooked end of a link p which projects through the slot r of the fastener. With the exception of the pin o, the component parts are formed of stampings.
