Control Of Throttle Valves Provided In The Intake System Or In The Exhaust System
(AREA)
Abstract
12,795. Ransom, C. Sept. 7. Combinations of interdependent valves.-In the induction passage of a carburettor are two valves, a rotary valve in the chamber 3 and to which a slotted lever 11 is attached, and a butterfly valve actuated through the lever 9 and rod 10. To the rod 10 is fixed a tube 14 through which passes a rod 13 a pin on which engages the slot in the lever 11. Thus by actuating the rod 10 both valves are simultaneously moved, but the valve in the chamber 3 can be independently actuated by the Bowden wire 15 attached to the rod 13.
