Collecting-rings; magneto-electric machines.-In a magneto-electric machine the laminated armature pole-pieces c are formed separate from the armature core and are embedded in a cylinder of insulating- material d which surrounds and protects the armature winding. An end plate e, formed integral with the cylinder d, has a boss q on which the high-tension collecting-ring o is carried, a flange r of insulating-material holding the ring o in position. The ring o may comprise two concentric rings of conducting-material, between which the end p of the high-tension winding is secured. The field magnet may be made up of a number of superposed permanent magnets s. Covers secured to the field-magnet pole-pieces serve to enclose the armature completely. The inner sides of the pole-pieces are formed with V-shaped depressions into which fit correspondingly-shaped projections on the core, the contacting-surfaces being preferably ground.
