Abstract

Valves regulating.-The air-admission valve for a crank casing which is used as a compression pump comprises a flat plate faced with leather or a similar material and hinged or adapted to turn about one of its edges. As shown in Fig. 1, the valve f turns about its lower edge, being secured to its seat by an adjustable spring g<3> mounted upon a pin, which is carried by the valve and rocks in a conical opening d<1> in the valve seat d. The movement of the valve is limited by a stop a<1>. More than one spring may serve to hold the valve to its seat.
