13,066. Baker, G. S., Baker, J. S., and Johnson, H. May 27. Proving or raising appliances; setting - appliances for ovens.-Relates to a dough-proving plant adapted to treat different forms of loaves. The plant may comprise two adjacent provers, one of the kind described in Specification 14,408/13 for tinned loaves, the loaves being fed and discharged by reciprocating pushers, and the other for cottage, French, or Vienna loaves, with separate means for discharging the loaves from both provers directly into the oven. This second prover is of the type comprising endless chains 16 passing over pulleys 18 and carrying receptacles 17, normally maintained horizontal but inverted for discharge as described in Specifications 2365/12 and 14,408/13, and has two inlets 21, 22 and two discharge openings 25, 26, so that cottage loaves may be given a preliminary proving with the parts 19, 20 separated, and a second proving subsequent to ' bashing.' This may be done by hand or by a known mechanical device 24. The cottage loaves are removed manually at the opening 25 before the receptacles are inverted as required to discharge the one-piece loaves at 26. The separate prover for tinned loaves may be dispensed with, and these are then fed by pushers to the receptacles in the prover for cottage and one-piece loaves. A conveyer of the type described in Specification 11,474/09 receives the one-piece loaves and places them in the oven. The end of the conveyer is jointed and is raised or swung laterally to clear the loaves already in the oven as the end passes into the oven to deliver the next row of loaves.
