9948. Macfarlane, O. P., and Pulman, A. H. R. April 22. Two-stroke-cycle engines; driving-gear.-The oppositely-moving pistons of an engine using crank-case compression having a co-axial airpump d are secured, as shown in the Figure, to a common cross-head i, to which the crankshaft is connected by a rod n. The stroke of the piston b may be varied by adjusting the position of the fulcrum of the beam f, and to regulate the clearance, the piston b is adjustable on its rod g.
