9639. Aud, T. E. April 18. Body attachments, buoyant.-A union garment has an adjustable elastic opening at the neck 4, Fig. 1, and is entered near the waist by a thin waterproof tube 8 secured within an outer shorter tube 7 communicating with an opening in the body of the garment. After the wearer has entered the garment and before placing his arms in the sleeves, the tube 8 is drawn into the garment, and the free end twisted and folded into the position shown in Fig. 5, and tightly secured by a strap 12, which is secured to the inside of the garment near a shoulder. An apron 9 secured at one edge to the inner face of the tube 7 is then drawn up between the body and the tube 8, to prevent injury to this tube, and is secured to the garment by fastenings 10, 11 ; the outer tube 7 is rolled up and secured outside the garment by straps and buckles 14. Automatic valves 16 allow air to escape from the garment. A hood may be provided having a depending skirt fitting over the neck and shoulders of the garment. Fastening-clamps 19 are provided at the ankles.
