Abstract

2513. Soc. Anon. d'Applications des Gaz LiquÚfiÚs. March 8, 1913, [Convention date]. Pressure-regulating valves.-A pressure regulator of the type provided with a relief valve has the relief valve so arranged that the continued movement of the actuating-means, after the main valve has closed on its seat, positively opens the relief valve, if the excess pressure has not already done so. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the main valve 7 is carried by an adjustable blade spring 17 mounted on a pivoted lever 8. The lever has a pin-and-slot connexion with a member 16 rigidly secured to the actuating - diaphragm, which is adjustably loaded by a spring 5. The spring-loaded relief valve 12 is housed in a casing 21 arranged inside the main casing, and has a projecting pin adapted to be engaged by the lever 8, should the pressure rise excessively without the relief valve opening. In a modification, a spring pivot on the lever is substituted for the spring 17, and in a further modification, a helical spring is used instead of a blade spring. and the loading-spring 5 is arranged so that its adjustment cannot be altered after the apparatus has been assembled.
