Abstract

718,052. Pressure-regulating valves. EVERED & CO., Ltd. May 26, 1953 [Feb. 29, 1952], No. 5319/52. Class 135 In a pressure regulator of the type comprising a valve 6 supported by a diaphragm 7 with the valve seat 8 interposed between the valve and the diaphragm, the tension of the spring 9 loading the diaphragm is adjusted by screwing down a tubular spring-abutment member 10 on a socket 11 upstanding from the cover plate of the governor casing, and the tubular abutment 10 or the socket 11 carries a ring 13 acting as a stop to limit the amount by which the spring can be pre-stressed. A grub screw holds the ring 13 in position. In a modification, the member 10 comprises a cap screwing over the socket 11 and the ring 13 is located on the socket.
