[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Two-stroke-cycle engines. - The pump and power cylinders are side by side, and the main crank leads the pump crank by 45 degrees; the working cylinder begins to receive its charge from the pump at the dead-centre through the valve s, and. the charge ignites when the cranks have travelled through 45 degrees. The pump draws in a charge during three-quarters only of its outstroke, and there is no clearance in either cylinder. The valve r controls the admission to the pump and the exhaust from the power cylinder.
