Valves.-In multi-cylinder engines, a reciprocating piston valve e to each cylinder controls inlet and exhaust, and air before passing to the carburettor is forced through the valves and valve-chest. Valve-gear. - The valves are reciprocated by cams n on a rotary shaft o co-operating with rollers q on the valves. In a modification, a rod is attached to each valve and carries a roller working in a common cam groove.
