Sliding-jaw wrenches; jaw faces.-A wrench has a toothed shank 8 sliding within a yoke 6, a spring 10 between the end of the yoke and the shank to draw the jaws together, a toothed dog 14 slidably mounted within the yoke and adapted to engage the toothed shank under the action of a cam 12 on the end of the pivoted operating lever 5 and a sliding jaw face 3 mounted on the inclined end of the yoke and retained in position by a projecting pin 3<a> engaging slots 6<1> in the yoke. The lever 5 may be provided with a projecting toe 16 which engages the lug 3<1> of the jaw face 3.
