Overhead incandescent lamps.-In a gas lamp for indirect or semi-indirect lighting using inverted incandescent mantles, a transparent cylinder F surrounds the burner nozzles C<1>, C<2>, C<3>, and opens into a cylinder D, thus preventing the combustion products from tarnishing the reflecting surface of the reflector H. The opaque or semi-transparent bowl or reflector G may be attached to a rod A' depending from the gas-supply pipe A ; or it may be suspehded by chains, wires, or the like K from the reflector H.
