Abstract
7364. Humphrey, A. H., and Humphrey, H. R. June 22, 1906, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Incandescent gas lamps ; reflectors and holders therefor ; globe holders.-To facilitate getting at the mantles G, they are placed in holes in a plate B which is carried by a slidable and rotatable stem B<1>. A pin b on this stem moves in the vertical slit .of a split sleeve C and is secured in the upper working position by the upper end of the sleeve, which is shaped like a cam or spirally ; a stop S on the stem determines the working position ; C' is a finger piece. The plate B is preferably made of magnesia or other non-heat-conducting material ; it acts also as a reflector, adding thereby to the attractive appearance of the lamp. The burners D depend from a common supply ring E arranged around a central chimney A, and project through a base flange A<1> on the chimney, which is supported from the gas-supply pipe F. The globe-holding ring I is hinged at J and secured by a thumb-screw K.
