Abstract
573. Webber, J. Jan. 9. Incandescent gas lamps; globe holders. -The gallery a is provided with pivoted members d operated by means of a screw e, and the globe merely rests by its flange on the lugs D of the members d, and is free to expand under the influence of heat. In a modification, the members d are replaced by pivoted bell-cranks provided around the gallery and connected together by a circular strip. The gallery may be connected by arms a<1> to a sliding sleeve a<2> on the burner. The mantle may be carried by a plate or bar supported by the globe.
