Abstract

3918. Butler, W. Feb. 15. Packing, removable casings, containers, or carriers for.-A stuffing- box is provided with a revolvable casing B containing the packing- rings, which are caused to revolve with the casing by means of keys D. The casing runs on ball bearings F and is rotated by a pinion gearing with a toothed flange B' on the casing. Split rings E prevent leakage between the casing and the stuffing- box. The packing is compressed by a gland C.
