Breech actions, sliding breech-block; protecting from dust and rain.-Relates to transversely-sliding plates for covering the slot in which the handle of an automatic gun works, and consists in pivoting the trigger-arm to the plate. As shown in Fig. 1, the trigger - arm P is pivoted to the plate D which slides vertically in guides G. When the trigger is pulled, the plate is depressed and uncovers the slot for the handle A. As long as the breech is open, the plate D is held depressed and the trigger-nose H cannot re-engage the sear J. The top edge of the plate is formed with an inclined surface K, so that the plate is depressed when the bolt is drawn back by hand.
