8172. Dawson, Sir A. T., and Buckham, G. T. April 4. Breech actions, sliding barrel and breechblock; firing and safety appliances applicable generally ; trigger guards. - Relates to guns having the trigger mechanism mounted on a detachable plate, and consists (1) in forming the plate at front and rear with rearwardlyextending projections adapted to slide into corresponding recesses in the stock and in the magazine wall, and (2) in mounting also a safety-lever on the detachable plate. In the construction shown, the plate C, carrying the trigger mechanism A, A<1> and the safety griplever B has projections C<2>, C<1>, at front and rear, engaging recesses in the frame stock and in the magazine wall, and is locked in position by a spring catch D, which also locks the magazine base - plate F<1>. The trigger guard c is formed integral with the plate C.
