Actuating; pressure-regulating valves. - A valve for regulating pressure, especially adapted for use with fluid-pressure-actuated brakes, has inlet and exhaust ports 6, 7, and is so arranged that, for every position of the actuating-lever. a definite pressure is maintained in the port 8 leading to the brake cylinder. The actuating- lever is connected by a spindle 9 to a piston valve 10 adapted to work in a movable ported seating 11 moved against the action of a spring 17 by outlet fluid pressure acting on differential pistons 19, 20. The brakes are applied by weights normally held off by steam pressure admitted through the regulating-valve acting on a piston connected to a dash-pot.
