Abstract

Fixed-abutment type; compensating for irregularity of flow.-The outwardly-sliding vanes c of a rotary pump are arranged to slide one against the other in a diametral slot of the rotor c, and are pressed outwards by a spring f, Fig. 5, which is housed in apertures e<1> arranged in the vanes so as to be always out of alinement with one another. The forward edges of the vanes may be rounded off or bevelled, so that, in the event of the pressure becoming excessive, the liquid may force the vane inwards and escape back.
