Abstract

5292. Vickery, F. W. May 19, 1911. Delivery apparatus.-In paper - laying and like machines, such as are described in Specification 17,257/06, the sheets, as they are being delivered to a pile from a conveying belt or band, or by conveying-tapes, are slowed down so as not to be injured by the back gauges. As shown, the sheets are delivered by a conveyer B, and pass over a roller C, which is driven at a slower speed than the conveyer B. Before the sheet reaches the stop H, a bellcrank E is actuated by a cam &c. so as to lower a roller D, to cause the sheet to be slowed down by the roller C, and the bell-crank E is returned to normal position when the sheet reaches the stop H. Wheels may be used in place of the roller B or C.
