Abstract
24,417. Kimberley, F. A., and James Cycle Co. Nov. 3. Luggage-carriers.-Relates to adjustable front carriers for cycles, of the type adapted to carry a basket or like article, and comprises a framework a having mounted on the lower rear member a<1> thereof, two brackets b having recesses or boxes b<1> adapted to fit upon, and be secured to the top of the fork crown c by set-screws b<2>; the forward portion of the frame is secured to the extremities of the spindle d by inclined struts c. The upper ends of the struts are bifurcated, and are fitted to the tubes a<2> by clips so as to be adjustable along the tubes; the lower ends of the struts may slide in brackets f on the spindle, being adjustably secured by a locking bolt, and the brackets may also permit of a slight angular adjustment around the spindle. In a modification, tubular sockets of substantial length may be employed in place of the brackets on the spindle ends, or the struts may be otherwise telescopically adjustable.
