Abstract
294,395. Gash, W. B. Sept. 10, 1927. Seat attachments. - Collapsable handle-bars for pillion riders of motorcycles &c. comprise two separate bars j, provided with handles g, and adapted to slide telescopically in tubes e and to be fixed therein by split screws h &c., the handle-bars being adapted to fold or turn inwards when not in use. As shown, the tubes e are connected by links c to a fixed collar b on a support a, and are pivoted to a sliding collar b<1>, so that the handlebars may be collapsed as shown in Fig. 2. The collar b<1> is locked in either position by a wing-nut m, and the links c may be held in the collapsed position by a double clip r. The support a is attached to the back forks, or to the carrier or pillion seat. In a modification, the links and collars are omitted, and the bars f slide in vertical tubes e and are also adapted to rotate therein, so that the handles can be turned inwards out of the way.
