Abstract
23,655. Cutler, E. Nov. 17. Luggage carriers for bicycles, tricycles, motorcycles, &c. In a combined cape and parcel carrier, a frame A adapted to rereceive parcels is supported by stays B and secured by clips H to the rear forks, while a wire or like frame J, retained, when not required, beneath the frame A. by a catch N or by sliding cross-bars K', when released, is raised by a spring to a vertical position to carry a cape between itself and the forks. The adjustable clips H comprise an angle-piece H<1> one limb of which passes through the sleeve H<3> of a second piece H<2>, the two parts being secured by a bolt I. In lieu of connecting the front bar F to the frame A by studs G<1> as shown, thumb-screws may be used. The cross-bars K embracing the side members is also slidable. When not required, the combined carrier may be folded down alongside the forks. For this purpose, the straps are removed and the bars K, K' slide to the back. The frame A is then released from the bar F and turned down within the stays B, which are brought over to rest at the back of the forks. By arranging a cape between the frames J, A, the carrier J may be used when the parcelcarrier is in its folded position.
