Abstract

25,447. Lycett, E. Nov. 15. Luggage-carriers ; seat attachments. - Bags, seats, &c. are attached to carrier frames of motor-cycles, cycles, &c. by first securing to the carrier frame a removable frame a, Fig. 3, having a number of locking-slots b; the slots are engaged by headed studs m, Fig. 2, on the bag &c., and the studs are locked in the narrow portions of the slots by means of a sliding bolt such as n adapted to move across the enlarged portions of some or all of the slots. The jaws c of the removable frame may be arranged to slide and may be clamped upon the carrier frame by a thumb-screw i which draws the jaws together, or the pair of jaws on one side may be fixed and connected to the other sliding pair by spiral springs so that the removable frame may be spring-clipped to the carrier frame. The jaws may be formed upon the ends of the adjusting-screws mounted upon the sides of the removable frame. The locking-bolt n may be provided with a pivoted operating-lever o and the engaging portion of the bolt may be inclined as at p to force the studs into the narrow parts of the slots.
