Abstract

Hoods.-In a folding hood, the cant-rail B, hinged upon the pillar C, is connected by a link F<1> to an extension F<3> of the back-stay F<2> so that simultaneous operation of the parts is effected. The cant - rail extends rearwards of the pillar C and may abut either against a short section B<1>, adapted to turn upwards about the hinge B<3>, or against the pillar D, the section B<1> in this case lying alongside the cant-rail. The section B' carries a hoop-stick E, which may, however, be mounted on the link F<1> so as to lie between this link and the cant-rail in the folded position. The back-stay F<2>, F<5> is preferably arranged outside the vehicle, and the pivot pins F<6> are rigidly connected together by a transverse bar so that the whole hood may be collapsed by turning the member F<5> on one side. The front extension for the driver comprises a front rail H and hinged bars H' adapted to close back upon the cant-rails B.
