Hoods.-The front extension is unfolded simultaneously with the raising of the rear hood by a radius-rod g or a spring connected with the jointed bars c<1> that support the main longitudinal bars b of the extension. In t h e construction shown, t h e extension frame comprises the bars b, b<1> jointed at b<3> and the bars c, c<1> jointed together at e and to the bar b at b<2>. The radius-rod g is pivoted to the body at g<1>, and in collapsing the hood turns the bar c<1> downwardly to lie against the main hoopstick a. In another arrangement, the pivot d slides on the hoop-stick a and it is stated in the Provisional Specification that such sliding connexion may be alternative to a similar pin-and-slot connexion between the rods g, c' at g<2>. A spring may be substituted for the radius-rod.
