Abstract

16,556. Sleigh, H. L., and Cheston, A. S. July 16. [Addition to 23,957/11.] Hoods for motor cabriolets, landaulets, and other vehicles, of the type described in the parent Specification having the cant-rail 6 connected to the pillar 1 by links 7, 8, are provided with means whereby the cant-rail is automatically folded when the pillar is raised or lowered, and with means to assist in raising the hood. The link 8 is secured to an extension 14, which is pivoted to a stay 16 adjustably connected at its lower end 17 to the vehicle frame, so that the cant - rail is folded in the manner shown. For assisting in raising the hood, the supporting-arm 3, pivoted at 4, is connected by a link 20 to a lever 21 acted on by a spring 22.
