26,052. Wilkes, S., and Wilkes, J. Nov. 13. Hoods.-In a folding hood for cabriolets and other vehicles, the cant-rail is connected to the top of the pillar by two substantially horizontal links of different lengths, one of the links having an extension connected to the vehicle frame by a pivoted stay, so that, when the cant-rail is raised, the pillar is automatically folded. The telescopic spring member which assists in extending the hood is arranged around the pivoted stay. The pillar 1 is pivoted at 3, and the cant-rail 8 is connected to the pillar by links 6, 9, the former being pivoted to a plate 7 on the cant-rail at a point nearer to the pillar than the pivot of the liuk 9. The link 6 is formed with an extension connected to a pivoted stay 4, which is surrounded by a spring 10 and telescopic casing 11, 12, bearing at its upper end against a lug 13 on the pillar.
