Hoods.-The cant-rail a of a folding hood for motor and other carriages is connected to the upper end of the folding pillar b by two pivoted links c, d, so that the cant-rail can fold down parallel to the pillar b, as shown, to reduce the overhang; and to prevent damage to the paint on the pillar b, the cant-rail is kept out of contact with the pillar when folded by the front end of the link c abutting against the link d. When open, the rear end of the cantrail abuts against a stop b<1> to prevent further upward movement. The rear end of the cantrail is also adapted to engage a guide b<2> on the pillar to prevent lateral displacement.
