Abstract

106,396. Beer, A. E., and Robson, F. W. Sept. 13, 1916. Hoods.-The hoops 2 of vehicle hoods or coverings are hinged to the uprights 1 to permit passage beneath gateways and other obstructions. The hoops are connected to a batten 3 so that they move together and are secured in the raised position by the engagement of claws 5, on a vertically movable bracket 5<1>, with the front hoop. The batten 3 is in two parts which can be disconnected by withdrawing a pin 10 to enable the rear portion of the hood, together with the hoops and uprights, to be thrown forward on to the front portion, for loading the vehicle by crane.
