Abstract

18,218. Leichner, S. Aug. 11. Fountains.-A fountain is illuminated by enclosing the jet in a burning mixture of combustible vapour and air. The nozzle b is surrounded by two perforated tubes f, h. A closed vessel c is mounted on the supply pipe a, and carries inwardly - opening spring - controlled valves n. The vessel e, which is connected to the vessel c by a pipe d, contains benzine or other combustible. The water jet k, acting as an injector, draws into the tube f a mixture of vapour and air which is ignited. In an alternative form, the vessel c is open at the bottom.
