Processes.-In the preparation of silk, the slivers of the fibre are attenuated, and subsequently such an increased number of the same are to be employed as are necessary for making up the desired thickness of sliver for a given weight to pass through the gilling-head. The drawing-head is arranged to deliver the same quantity of sliver, but of a longer length, by running the front rollers at an increased speed.
