Abstract
101,982. Jannink, J. F. June 17, 1915, [Convention date]. Rollers and roller heads. -In a drawing-head for cotton, comprising only two pairs of rollers, a pair of rollers 2, 2a of small diameter is arranged immediately behind the usual delivery rollers 3, 3<a> at a distance 10 mm. less than the mean staple length of the fibres being drawn. The upper roller 2<a> is of small weight (from 60-80 grms.) and may be of aluminium. Feeding- rollers are dispensed with, but a pair of carrier rollers 1, 1<a> may be employed, the lower one of which has the same surface speed as the roller 2. Any other suitable carrying-device may be substituted for the roller 1, 1<a>. If the staple of the fibre is long enough, the usual lower fluted intermediate roller may be retained and moved up close to the lower delivery roller. The usual upper intermediate roller is in this case replaced by a small light roller as described above. Specification 100,222 is referred to.
