406. Courtauld & Co., S., and Napper, S. S. Jan. 6. Xanthates.-Threads, films, &c. are formed by precipitation of viscose solution by means of a bath containing an acid such as sulphuric acid with or without sulphates, glucose, &c., to which a small proportion of a zinc salt has been added, or in which a small proportion of a zinc salt has been formed, by addition of zinc or a suitable zinc compound. Examples are given of two baths, both consisting of sulphuric acid, glucose, ammonium sulphate, sodium sulphate, zinc sulphate, and water. Specification 10,094/06 is referred to.
