Abstract
335,675. I. G.. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Nov. 8, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 334,030. Cellulose xanthates, processes for making filaments from.-Viscose made from unripened alkali-cellulose and containing excess of alkali as compared with its content of cellulose is spun into a solution of ammonium salt such as ammonium sulphate. For maintaining constant the reaction of the spinning bath, acid may be added. Other ammonium salts such as the acetate ur formate may be used. Other meutral salts such as sodium sulphate, chloride, acetate, or lactate may be present in addition to the ammonium salt. The bath may also contain additions as described in the parent Specification. For subsequent coagulation the formed threads are passed through an acid bath of low concentration such as a six per cent solution of sulphuric acid. The freshly precipitated threads may be subjected to stretching. The viscose is made from unripened cellulose by processes carried out at temperatures above 0‹ C.
