Abstract
278,716. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Oct. 5, 1926, [Convention date]. Cellulose xanthates, processes for making filaments and other products from.-Precipitating baths for viscose, particularly such as are used for the manufacture of artificial silk &c., are saturated with respect to sodium sulphate and contain a high percentage of sulphuric acid such that on cooling to the crystallization point trisodium hydrogen sulphate first separates. Suitable concentrations of sulphuric acid are :-at 20‹ C., 16 per cent; at 46‹ C., 17-18 per cent; at 60‹ C., 19 per cent, these percentages being the parts by weight of acid contained in 100 parts by weight of the solution.
