273,506. Courtaulds, Ltd., Hegan, H. J., and Hazeley, E. July 19, 1926. Cellulose xanthates, processes for making filaments from.-For the manufacture of hollow filaments from a viscose in which sodium carbonate has been incorporated, there is employed a coagulating bath containing 9-11 per cent sulphuric acid, 10-14 per cent sodium sulphate, 8--14 per cent magnesium sulphate, and 0-8 per cent zinc sulphate, the proportion of metal sulphates being in any case 15-28 per cent of the bath. Glucose or other organic material may be added to the bath. A suitable proportion of sodium carbonate added to the viscose is 1-3 per cent.
