Abstract
29,386. Collett, E., and Eckardt, M. Dec. 20, 1909, [Convention date]. Ammonium sulphate is produced by treating mixtures of ammonium sulphite and sulphate, which may be in solution, with gases containing sulphurous and sulphuric anhydrides such as gases obtained by the burning of pyrites, with or without the addition of air. The treatment may be continued until an excess of sulphuric anhydride has been absorbed by the salt. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) describes also the application of the process as applied to sulphites or mixtures of sulphites and sulphates in general; this subject-matter does not occur in the Specification as accepted.
