Abstract
26,098. Collett, E. Nov. 18, 1911, [Convention date]. Acids, concentrating.-A process for drying vapours of nitric acid, in a counter-current with concentrated sulphuric acid or similar waterabsorbents, is modified by being carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the humid vapours are treated with a larger quantity of a constantly circulating dehydrant, such as sulphuric acid, cooled and kept at almost constant strength ; in the second, the vapours are treated in a counter-current by a smaller amount of more concentrated dehydrant.
