Lathes; chucks; lathe centres.-A hollow-spindle chuck has readily - movable jaws mounted in a draw-sleeve controlled from the front end of the headstocks, and a centre for the work axially adjustable to act also as a gauging- stop. The draw - sleeve 11 with radially-movable jaws 15 is actuated by levers 18, a coned sleeve 22 splined to the spindle, a yoke 24, and rack and pinion 29, from a hand lever 30. Unclamping is effected by a spring 32. A centre 35 with a supporting- disk 34 is carried by a screwed rod 33 adjustable in a nut 36 by a hand-wheel 37 and locking-wheel 38.
