[Addition to 20,854/09.] Motor power plant.-The propellers of aeroplanes are arranged in line and driven in the same direction, or two such sets of propellers may be mounted abreast, two or more engines being used so that the propellers may be driven singly or in sets by separate engines, or the engines may be clutched together. As shown, two engines 11, 12 are arranged so as to drive the propellers 2, 1 respectively, and are adapted to be coupled by the clutch 15, 18. Where the propellers are arranged abreast, each engine may drive a right and left hand propeller, the propellers on each side being mounted in line.
