Abstract

21,841. Boult, A. J., [Soc. A. Darracq et Cie]. Sept. 24. Single-acting suction-valveless piston pumps. -The crank-shaft of an internal-combustion engine carries a cam 11 operating the lubricating-pump plunger 16. The plunger has a spring-pressed ball valve 19, and the oil is pumped through pipes 21. The oil is contained in a tank 18 communicating with the crank chamber 14 by a pipe which acts as a liquidlevel regulating device for the crank chamber; the pump barrel is surrounded by a strainer.
