Abstract
14,627. Fauber, W. H. June 22. [Addition to 20,281/08.] Hydroplane vessels; skins.-In vessels of the construction described in Specification 7834/08, the parent Specification, and Specification 12,107/09, frictional resistance at their bottoms and sides is reduced by means of auxiliary steps arranged diagonally to these surfaces, as shown in underside plan in Fig. 2, and in enlarged section in Fig. 3. The inclined walls of two adjacent hydroplane members are connected together by a curved or arched portion g, Fig. 4. The diagonal planking is arranged outside and the horizontal planking inside the boat, the auxiliary steps being formed by planking which is thicker at one end than the other.
