Abstract

1690. Demerliac, L. Oct. 6, 1904, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Hulls. - A long narrow hull a is provided with lateral extensions b of approximatelyrectangular crosssection, having oblique or horizontal undersides practically at the water level. These extensions join the bow in a series of curved lines, and are carried round the stern to form a flattened poop. It is stated that this construction increases the stability of the vessel. The lateral extensions may be made water-tight by partitions c to render the vessel insubmersible.
