Abstract
1629. L'Anglois, J. T., and Briggs, B. H. Jan. 20. Boat - launching apparatus.-Boats 12 are supported, so that they may be utilized as part of the ship, in recesses in the sides of the hull 10 by beams 14, which are moved laterally away from the hull and depressed at one end so as to lower the sterns of the boats into the water. The beams 14 are provided with rollers, and are moved outwards by racks 18 ; the rack at the bow is flat, while that at the stern is curved in order to effect the relative lowering of the stern.
