Hydroplane vessels.-In a boat of the hydroplane or gliding type having parallel side boards or plates between which a propeller is situated near the stern of the boat, the side boards or plates 6 are pivoted to the hull 4 near the stern and are adjustably guided and supported near the bow curves. The side boards may be lifted by cables 20 and a drum 21 or other means, and are guided by plates 22. A boat with vertical sides, a substantially flat bottom, and rigidly-fixed side boards is also shown.
