Abstract

169,390. Langstaff, J. E. Oct. 13, 1920. Hulls.-A power-driven boat hull has a bottom from which depends a well 10 having an upwardly and forwardly extending bottom 9, upwardly diverging side walls 2, and a forwardly and outwardly curved bow 5 which may have upwardly and outwardly diverging concave side walls. The bow may extend above the main hull 2 and carry a deck 6. Plates 11 arranged adjacent to the sides of the well 10 extend forwards on opposite sides of the inclined bottom 9 and form a recess or channel for the water. The bottom of the main hull is upwardly and forwardly inclined at 7, in the same plane as the bottom 9. Propellers 12 and a rudder 19 are disposed between a plate 17 extending from the bottom of the well 10 and the main hull bottom.
