Abstract

118,956. Pratt, F. G. Dec. 3, 1917. Hulls. - The hulls of mechanically propelled vessels are constructed with the chines or bilge lines lying at such an angle with the keel or deck line that when the vessel is running in smooth water the said lines do not come into contact with the water until a point abaft or aft of midships. The vessel is shown at rest in smooth water. In this case also, the lines a do not contact with the water until aft of midships.
