Abstract

25,384. Palmer's Shipbuilding and Iron Co., and Long, A. E. Dec. 6. Frames and framing.- The longitudinal de c k girders e are made completely continuous a n d not notched over the deck beams. The transverse beams are made up of a number of divided lengths f, fitted between the longitudinals. These lengths may either be made up of flanged plates, as shown, or of partially-flanged plates secured by angles. The camber of the deck is an arc of a circle and the girders are set radially, so that all the divided lengths are of the same size. The separate transverse beam pieces are stiffened by longitudinal pieces k. The deck plating is made flush, so that it may be better adapted for covering with corticine.
